Warning! This page contains spoilers for Part 5! Proceed with caution. |
Apashe is the main antagonist of Scarlet River. He is a Pillar Man that was awakened in Skylight Cave. He does not initially possess a Stand, only gaining Lord & Master when on the verge of defeat.
APPEARANCE
[edit | edit source]Apashe is a towering creature- easily 12' tall. He has massive muscles. An oppressive aura clings to him and a faint, purple mist partially shrouds him.
Four long drill-like horns sprout from his forehead. One of them glows slightly. The soul of Buck Flanger is trapped inside of the horn.
PERSONALITY
[edit | edit source]Confident and smug. He believes everything is going exactly as planned. Apashe is studious, and very knowledgeable on Stands.
IN THE CAMPAIGN
[edit | edit source]After Awaking
[edit | edit source]Following his awakening, Apashe immediately set to work. A lot had changed in the centuries that he had slept. He established a hideout at the Osmond Museum of Art and began his research. It was as he learned about Stand abilities that he formulated a plan for world domination.
Attempting to Gain a Stand Ability
[edit | edit source]Once Apashe learned of the Stand arrows, he had Dianthus acquire one immediately. The Pillar Man attempted to use it on himself, but it failed- severely injuring him. He deduced that this was a sign of the arrow rejecting him, and that to acquire a Stand power he must first be pushed to his limits.
Assembling the Threads
[edit | edit source]Out of nowhere, people from different eras would materialize before Apashe, infused with vampiric essence and already loyal to the Pillar Man. These were the actions of Apashe's future self- after he had obtained Lord & Master.
Because of this, Apashe's faith never wavered. Even as his Threads fell one-by-one he knew it was all part of the path that would lead to him acquiring his Stand ability.
Sekiyama's Mission
[edit | edit source]Dianthus was a valuable asset to Apashe. The man was cunning, strategic, and had a powerful Stand. Though he was unquestionably loyal to the Pillar Man, Apashe felt that in time, his second in command's natural ambition would tempt him to overthrow him. To prevent this, Apashe entrusted a secret mission to Sekiyama Kanzan. She would take his Stand arrow and shoot the daughter of the late Hank Davis. His plan was for Sophie Davis to develop a Stand ability and track down Dianthus. By killing him, Apashe would be free of his ambitious second in command. Additionally, to defeat Dianthus, Sophie will have to become a powerful foe. He hoped that her and her allies would be what he needed to push himself to the brink.
Under the cover of night, Sekiyama took the bow & arrow and shot Sophie Davis in the coffee shop parking lot.
Assault on the Museum
[edit | edit source]When the party and their allies arrive at the Osmond Museum of Art, Apashe had already laid out an expansive trap. He bound the souls of those that had died in Osmond to the exhibits in the museum. Additionally, he had an army of vampire spawn hiding throughout the place. As the party battles Dianthus, Apashe emerges from his lair and slaughters everyone on the main floor of the museum- trapping their souls inside his horns.
Acquiring Lord & Master
[edit | edit source]Pushed to his limit and on the verge of defeat, Apashe manifests a Stand ability. Using Lord & Master, he plucks all seven threads from the past, present, and future, and inserts them into the past- infusing all but Valeri with vampiric essence as he does so.
Lord & Master Requiem
[edit | edit source]Apashe is about to die. He is filled with confusion and panic. He has no choice but to go beyond. He swings his fist through the air, and mid-swing activates Lord & Master. In the Stand's pocket dimension he frantically scouring the windows through time. He pulls an Egyptian merchant from the past. The merchant is carrying a large wooden box containing the Stand arrows.
As the pocket dimension collapses and everyone are brought back to their bodies, Apashe is no longer swinging at nothing. His fist connects with the man, who explodes violently. The box shatters and a golden arrow flies through the air. Apashe reaches it first and pierces his Stand. He activates Lord & Master Requeim, but never discovers its ability.
TRIVIA
[edit | edit source]- The only reason Apashe didn't infuse Valeri with vampiric essence was because his future self hadn't either. Time loops yippee.
- Apashe was the first character created for Scarlet River. His Stand and schemes were made first, and the rest of the campaign followed.
- Apashe is allergic to black licorice.
- Apashe's favorite thing to eat is a bag of frozen peas.
