''"Get those munitions moving lads! First frost is nearly upon us- and with it comes the Zephyr!"''

Hive Fleet Zephyr is a peculiar strain of Tyranid. Their connection to the Hive Mind seems to be completely severed. They are only found on a handful of planets across a couple of systems. These factors combined with their predictable, animalistic behavior leaves them a low priority on the Imperium's ever-growing list of fires to extinguish.

== Appearance ==
The Zephyr have deep black exoskeletons with bright yellow carapaces. The carapaces are adorned with black markings. Their venomous claws, talons, and stingers are a vibrant green color. The Magos Biologis proclaim this unusual appearance to be aposematism- a warning sign to potential adversaries that they pose a significant threat and are best left alone.

== Hives ==
The swarm lives in clusters of bulbous, ribbed structures erected from mulched biomass. Locals refer to these clusters as 'Hives'. The constructs are arranged in hexagonal patterns surrounding a single 'Nexus'. Within this nexus hive is the Brood Queen- a highly powerful and intelligent synaptic anchor that directs the brood.

== Brood Queen ==
The Brood Queen is a Tyrannic pattern unique to the Zephyr. Lacking a connection to the Hive Mind, their Brood Queens exist to operate in its place. The Brood Queen consumes vast amounts of energy to psychically link and coordinate the various members of the cluster. There is only ever one Brood Queen to a hive, and members of a hive cannot interface with a queen that's not their own.

If the Brood Queen dies, the entire hive's synaptic link is severed at once. The members turn feral and attack anything around them. Despite the immense difficulty, this is the only way to ensure a hive is permanently destroyed.

== Behavior ==
The Zephyr are highly territorial, but rarely venture more than than a handful of miles from their hives. They pray on local flora and fauna, and take the assimilated biomass back to the hives for the queen.

When fall arrives, the Brood Queen is spent and will soon die. Before it does, it births the next queens. This marks the beginning of the end for the colony.

The new queens require many months to develop, and initially can only synaptically link to a handful of allies. This poses a great danger to the Hive- should the current Brood Queen die, the hive will turn feral. They will attack each other and, more importantly, the next generation of queens. Thus the Brood Queen's final action each autumn is to send the hive as far away from the cluster as possible.

This wandering horde of Zephyr has no further use to the queen, so it commands them aggressively. They rampage across the planet's surface and are often attracted to settlements. They fight to the last, and grow increasingly feral as the Brood Queen's life-force wanes.

When the current Brood Queen dies, the young successor queens begin to hibernate. A small retinue of combat-capable spawn are linked to the queens, and protect them throughout the fall and winter seasons. Come spring, the queens will leave the decaying Hive Cluster. They will travel for dozens of miles to establish a new nesting site.

== War-Swarms ==
Occasionally, Brood Queens of disparate hives will link together. Doing so substantially increases the strain placed on each queen, but allows them to coordinate in significant ways. This coordination often results in vast swarms of Zephyr moving and acting as one. These hordes are known as 'War-Swarms', and are the only times that Hive Fleet Zephyr behaves in ways that resembles a traditional Tyranid hive fleet.
Within this nexus hive is the Brood Queen- a highly powerful and intelligent synaptic anchor that directs the brood.

== Brood Queen ==
The Brood Queen is a Tyrannic pattern unique to the Zephyr. The Zephyr appear to be cut off from the Hive Mind. Instead, the Brood Queen acts as a pseudo Hive Mind. It consumes vast amounts of energy to psychically link and coordinate the various members of the cluster. There is only ever one Brood Queen to a hive, and hives cannot interface with a queen that's not their own.

If the Brood Queen dies, the entire hive's synaptic link is severed at once. The members turn feral and attack anything around them. Despite the immense difficulty, this is the only way to ensure a hive is permanently destroyed.

== Behavior ==

== War-Swarms ==
Occasionally, Brood Queens of disparate hives will link together. Doing so substantially increases the strain placed on each queen, but allows them to coordinate in significant ways. This coordination often results in vast swarms of Zephyr moving and acting as one. These hordes are known as 'War-Swarms', and are the only times that Hive Fleet Zephyr acts in ways that resembles its peers.

Hive Fleet Zephyr is a peculiar strain amongst the Tyranid. They are only found on a handful of planets across a couple of systems. Their connection to the Hive Mind appears to be completely severed. The Brood Queen is a Tyrannic pattern unique to the Zephyr. The Zephyr appear to be entirely cut off from the Hive Mind. There is only ever one Brood Queen to a hive, and hives cannot interface with a queen that's not their own.

If the Brood Queen dies, the entire hive's synaptic link is severed at once. The members turn feral and attack anything around them. Despite the immense difficulty, this stands as the only way to ensure a hive is permanently wiped out.

== Behavior ==
The Zephyr are highly territorial, but rarely venture further than than a handful of miles from their hives. They pray on local flora and fauna, and take the assimilated biomass back to the hives.

When fall arrives, the Brood Queen is spent and will soon die. Before it does, it will birth the next queens. Several Brood Queens are spawned and venture out, seeking a new home. This marks the end of the colony.

The new queens require many months to develop, and initially can only synaptically link to a handful of allies. This poses a great danger to the Hive- should the current Brood Queen die, most of the Hive will turn feral. They will attack each other and, more importantly, the next generation of queens. Thus, the Brood Queen's final action each autumn is to send the Hive as far away from the cluster as possible.
=== Founding ===
Many centuries ago, [https://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Shiyama Shiyama] marched into the realms of chaos alongside her fierce legion. The chaos gods deceived the dragon, and she perceived her own army as a horde of blithering daemons. She decimated her own forces with ease, slaughtering most and scattering the rest into the mind-bending heartland of chaos.

Shiyama's trusted right-hand-man, Ying Shi, barely escaped with his life. Severely wounded, he and a dozen other men braved the harsh wastes and returned to Grand Cathay. By the time they arrived, only three members remained. Upon re-uniting with other survivors, Shi noticed that none of them had any recollection of their journey beyond the wall. More disturbingly, they had no memory of Shiyama.

Outraged, his companions set out for the imperial court, to demand answers from the emperor and empress. Ying had a bad feeling about the situation, however, and sneaked away in the night. When he next saw his companions, they had suffered the same fate. They had no memories of Shiyama, nor the time they spent beyond the great bastion.

Ying Shi spent the rest of his life reconnecting with his former brothers-in-arms, convincing them to take up arms alongside him, and forming a small, yet elite band of mercenaries that fight in the name of Shiyama, the Spirit Dragon. He called this new company the Blades of Shiyama. He leveraged his experience fighting in the chaos wastes to turn his company into elite daemon slayers.

On his deathbed, Ying Shi recorded his story and the truth of Shiyama in a book. He sealed the book with a lock. He gave his successor the book and key, having them swear they would pass the book down to their successor when the time came. This is how it's been for centuries. The leader of the Blades shoulders the burden of knowledge, and ensures their soldiers are always prepared to fight the forces of chaos.

=== The Whispers ===
A relatively recent phenomenon- after several years of service the leader of the Blades will begin to hear the voice of Shiyama in their dreams. She offers them guidance, and suggests courses of action. It is up to each of them to determine the true nature of these dreams, and whether or not to follow the susurrations.

== Special Equipment ==

=== Binding Mirrors ===
Large bronze mirrors mounted on wagons. These mirrors have been enchanted by [https://whfb.lexicanum.com/wiki/Cathayan_Alchemist alchemists], and have a special binding property. When a daemon is slain, the mirror absorbs the energy that formed it. This effectively traps the daemon within the mirror. The only way for the daemonic energy within to escape is if the mirror is cracked. When not in use the mirrors are covered in thick canvas and bound by ropes. Very few are allowed to look upon a Binding Mirror- even within the Blades. Those that handle them have heavy mental fortitude, trained to ignore the voices emanating from the mirror.

=== Shiyama's Lament ===
A shimmering blade carved from the tooth of Shiyama. How this tooth came into the possession of the Blades is unknown. A lesser daemon struck by this blade is unbound, instantly dying. A greater daemon suffers grievous injuries that cannot be regenerated under any circumstances.
== Founding ==

=== Binding Mirrors ===

=== Shiyama's Lament ===
A shimmering blade carved from the tooth of Shiyama. How this tooth came into the possession of the Blades is unknown. A lesser daemon struck by this blade is unbound, instantly dying. A greater daemon suffers grievous injuries that cannot be regenerated under any circumstances.
A blade carved from the tooth of Shiyama. How this tooth came into the possession of the Blades in the first place is unknown. A lesser daemon struck by this blade is unbound, instantly dying. A larger daemon is partially unbound, suffering grievous injuries that cannot be regenerated under any circumstances.

Worlds Collide is a small campaign to get the hang of One Page Rules. Factions from Age of Fantasy and Grimdark Future are both allowed to participate.

= Background =
When Mallus, the World-That-Was met its tragic demise at the hands of Archaon the Everchosen and the unrelenting hoards of Chaos, all was destroyed... or so it was thought. Through the endless scheming of the Changeling- the agent of Tzeentch enacted his Ultimate Prank.
[[File:ChangelingRitualTWW.webp|thumb|''Tzeentch is gonna '''love''' this one!'']]
Space. Time. The barriers between dimensions. All collapsed on one another, as the Changeling sundered the fabric of reality in two.

In this new reality the fragments of Mallus (still containing inhabitants of the old world) were cast into the 41st millennium. In some cases these fragments would find themselves transposed onto worlds, moons, and occasionally even warships across the galaxy. Other times, the massive chunks of land would fall into the gravitational well of planetary bodies, eventually crashing down in a brilliant hail of meteorites. Few inhabitants of the World-That-Was survived such violent firestorms (though perhaps unsurprisingly, Orcs didn't seem to fare too badly).

The races of Mallus fought bitter wars against their new neighbors as they learned to grow accustomed to their new situation. The Wood Elves sought new sanctuaries, while Lizardmen sought to re-connect with their distant kin. Skaven generally just had an all-around good time.
[[File:40k Skaven.webp|thumb|''In the grimdark future of the 41 millennium... Skryre technology continues to fail at an alarming rate.'']]
Though their presence is still small in the grand scheme of the galaxy, the displaced races of the old world have begun to demand the attention of their neighbors as they establish themselves as potential threats.

= Campaign Structure =
The campaign takes place in the Balius System.

'''Scoring Campaign Victory Points:''' Participants play missions against each other. The winning player is allowed to take 1 region from the losing player.

In a mission where one player triumphs over multiple players, they take 1 region from each player. In a mission where multiple players defeat a single player, each victorious player can take one region from the defeated party- starting with the player that scored the highest.

At a set interval (TBD), players will passively gain Victory Points equal to the number of regions they control.

'''Warbands:''' Each player begins the campaign with 150pts to spend on their warband (up to 30pts of that can be saved to spend later). Upon completing a mission, the winning warband gains 2VP and 20pts. The losing warband gains 40pts instead.

* '''Recruiting New Units:''' Players may recruit one new hero after each mission, but may only have 3 heroes in their warband at once. Players may recruit as many non-Hero units as they want following a mission. One of the newly recruited units may start with 5XP if the player adds spends an extra 10pts to recruit them.
* '''Death:''' When a unit dies, they are removed from the warband and their cost is refunded to the player. Any XP and upgrades the unit had acquired are lost.
'''Missions, Points, Special Rules:''' Players decide which missions they want to play, how many points they want to play, and whether they want to use any special rules found in the advanced rulebooks. Matches can be run in Grimdark Future, GF Firefight, Age of Fantasy, AoF Skirmish, or even GF: Warfleets. They can be 1v1, 2v1, 3 player free-for-alls, etc. The only hard rule is that a mission should end with a region changing hands.

'''Running out of Territory:''' Players can continue to play missions while out of territory. If they are victorious in a mission, they seize regions as described above.
When Mallus, the World-That-Was met its tragic demise at the hands of Archaeon the Everchosen and the unrelenting hoards of Chaos, all was destroyed... or so it was thought. Through the endless scheming of the Changeling- the agent of Tzeentch enacted his Ultimate Prank.

Space.

Though their presence is still small in the grand scheme of the galaxy, the displaced races of the old world have begun to demand the attention of their neighbors as they establish themselves as potential threats.
